10 Best Things About a Snow Day

Snow day! That's right within the last 24 hours or so our area received about 3 feet of snow (it's still coming down). All three of my kids were home--what a fun day. Here's my top ten favorite things about our snow day. What are yours?

10)Snow angels.

9)Uno marathons.

8)Playing Webkinz--If you haven't tried Polar Plunge, you need to.

6)Warm cookies--we made oatmeal today.

5)Snowball fights.

4)Snuggling up together to watch Harry Potter. (My favorite is #3)

3)Sleeping in!

2)Hot cocoa after playing outside.

1)Down time with the kids.

  3. I do think the simple things are often the most impressive to kids (even teenagers).

  4. NOT that I'm wishing for snow (I so prefer the warm weather), but snow days ARE nice to have an excuse to have fun!

  5. Sounds nice. It's rainy and yucky here, all gray and overcast. My daughter is home sick. No snow in our forecast.

  6. My daughter is home sick too. I must admit, I enjoy having some "mom" time after the snow day, but that will just have to wait!

  7. I like hot tea on a snow day -- with those cookies. I also like, for a bit, being out in the snow, taking photos or just walking around, seeing what the day is like. sounds as though you're really enjoying yours.

  10. Wow, that much snow? Already?

I love your top 10 list. Mine would be very similar, particularly the hot chocolate, movie, sleeping in and making warm cookies.

Of course, all this would only take place if I could manage to tear myself away from my computer! ;)

  11. I would have to add snuggling with a favorite picture book... and building snow forts, complete with a slide that you can run water over for extra speed. I am basically a kid at heart!

  13. I grew up in California, so have never in my life had a snow day. I remember hearing about them when I was a kid and I was SO jealous! :)
